Responsibilities of Planning & Operation

The Director of Planning & Operations in a General Sales Agent (GSA) for a Freighter Flight plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and profitable operation of cargo flights. Their responsibilities typically include:

1. Strategic Planning & Business Development
Developing business strategies to enhance airline cargo sales and maximize revenue.
Identifying new markets and negotiating contracts with airlines and freight forwarders.
Establishing partnerships with logistics providers and regulatory authorities.

2. Flight & Cargo Operations Management
Overseeing the planning and scheduling of freighter flights.
Ensuring efficient space allocation and load optimization for maximum profitability.
Coordinating with airlines, ground handling agents, and customs authorities for seamless operations.

3. Sales & Marketing Oversight
Leading cargo sales efforts, including pricing strategies and promotional activities.
Monitoring market trends and competitor activities to adjust sales tactics accordingly.
Ensuring customer relationship management to maintain and grow airline partnerships.

4. Compliance & Regulatory Management
Ensuring adherence to international air cargo regulations (IATA, ICAO, customs, etc.).
Implementing safety, security, and operational compliance policies.
Managing documentation, permits, and customs clearance procedures.

5. Financial & Budgetary Control
Monitoring revenue performance and operational costs.
Preparing financial forecasts and reports for management and airline partners.
Optimizing operational expenses while maintaining service quality. 


6. Team Leadership & Coordination
Managing sales, operations, and logistics teams within the GSA.
Providing training and development to enhance team performance.
Ensuring effective communication between internal teams, airlines, and clients.

Managing Director (Mohammad Nazrul ISlam)

Managing Director

Air Vice Marshal Muhammad Nazrul Islam is a Fighter Pilot by profession, former Vice Chancellor of Aviation and Aerospace University of Bangladesh and Commander of two Air Force Operational Bases. He was also Commandant of Bangladesh Air Force Academy, Commander of BAF Peacekeeping Aviation Contingent in DR Congo and Instructor in NDC and Staff College – two most prestigious institutions of Bangladesh Armed Forces. He also served as Director General at the Prime Minister’s Office (Armed Forces Division), where he was heavily engaged in coordinating diverse defense related issues with allied countries. As Director of Overseas Air Operations, he visited UNHQ twice to negotiate for the deployment of BAF contingents in different Peacekeeping missions. He is a graduate of Pilot Instructor’s School of the United States Air Force and Air Force Command College, China. The Air Officer has solid academic credentials which include four master degrees with first-class marks from home and abroad including NDU, Pakistan and Staff College, India. He has also attended number of aviation related courses from home and abroad. He joined BAF in January 1984 and retired from Air Force in November 2022.

Skilled in digital marketing, market research, social media strategy and talent management with a strong ability to drive business success through marketing and people-oriented initiatives. Minar completed his Bachelor’s in Business Administration (BBA) from Bangladesh University of Professionals, majoring in Marketing. He completed his Higher School Certificate (HSC) from Military Collegiate School Khulna and Secondary School Certificate (SSC) from Bangladesh International School & College, majoring both in Science.
